Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, former Chairman of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) and Foreign Affairs Minister, has praised President John Dramani Mahama’s intervention in establishing ORAL, describing it as a masterstroke that has proven its relevance and timeliness.
Ablakwa highlighted the significant impact of ORAL’s work, emphasizing the overwhelming response from the public through various communication channels.
“We received 1,493 calls through the toll-free line. We also received 924 emails. Fortunately, all of these calls are recorded automatically, and all the emails have also been preserved for verification and validation.
“So in total, the number of complaints received amounts to 2,417,” Ablakwa disclosed while presenting the ORAL team’s report to President Mahama in Accra on Monday, February 10.
He stressed that this substantial number of complaints serves as clear evidence of ORAL’s critical role in addressing public concerns.
Ablakwa asserted that President Mahama’s decision to establish ORAL has been vindicated by the tangible results achieved.
“So those who had any doubts about how relevant and how timely the president’s intervention was at the time, this is your evidence. President Mahama has been vindicated. It was a masterstroke, it was the right decision for our country, and it has deepened transparency and accountable governance,” he stated.
