WAEC releases 2024 SHS WASSCE provisional results after delays caused by indebtedness

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of the 2024 West African Senior High School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The delay in releasing the results earlier this year was due to unpaid funds owed by the Ghanaian government to WAEC for services rendered by the council.

John K. Kapi, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, had previously indicated that the results would be released by the end of December 2024 following a recent payment to the council.

In a press release on Monday, December 30, Mr Kapi confirmed that the council would provide login details to school heads across the country, enabling them to access the results on the official site.

He also warned the public to be cautious of scammers who may exploit the situation by offering fraudulent results upgrades for a fee.

Regarding examination malpractices, Mr Kapi disclosed that the council had canceled subject results for 4,108 candidates, annulled the entire results of 483 candidates, withheld subject results for 781 candidates, and withheld the entire results of 209 candidates.

The council is investigating additional cases and assured the public that appropriate actions will be taken once the investigations are complete.

Below is the full press statement.
