Election 2024: Mahama is wining round one — Global InfoAnalytics

Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has predicted a decisive first-round victory for former President John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 general elections.

According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate is set to win outright without the need for a runoff and is also poised to secure a parliamentary majority.

Mr Dankwah’s projections contrast sharply with those of Prof. Smart Sarpong, Director of Research and Innovation at Kumasi Technical University.

Prof. Sarpong’s recent poll suggests the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will retain its parliamentary majority, with its Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, leading the polls at 49.1% against Mahama’s 45.8%.

This, according to Mr Sarpong, would likely lead to a runoff.

In contrast, Mr Dankwah’s survey places Mahama ahead with 51.9% of voter support, while Dr. Bawumia trails with 40.5%.

These conflicting projections highlight the differing interpretations of Ghana’s political climate as the December 7 elections approach.

“No runoff, Mahama wins in the first round. NDC will have a majority in Parl.ament. I say NDC,” Dankwah asserted.
