John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has confidently declared that his 8th position on the ballot paper symbolizes his ability to prevent the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, from winning the 2024 elections.
Mahama underscored the importance of the 8th spot, asserting that it signifies his strength and readiness for the challenge ahead. He dared his opponents, who also share the significance of the number, to contest his claim.
Addressing party supporters, Mahama highlighted the need for unity and called for overwhelming support at the polls to secure victory. He encouraged them to rally behind his campaign and leverage the symbolism of the 8th position to ensure success in the 2024 elections.
Mahama made these remarks during a visit to the Kokompe Spare Parts Market in Darkuman, within the Ablekuma North Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, on Friday, September 27, 2024, where he engaged with traders and residents.
“The person who was claiming he would break the eight should break it and let’s see, the eight is with me, I have arrested the eight,” Mr Mahama pointed out.
Mr Mahama promised to implement a stable dollar exchange rate and reduce taxes to benefit spare parts dealers.
“We will implement fixed dollar rate, we will reduce taxes.”
