Chelsea vs Wolves Prediction

Chelsea vs Wolves Prediction

Chelsea will be hoping to move into the Champions League places with a win against managerless Wolves on Saturday. The visitors are expected to appoint the recently sacked Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui as their new head coach but that isn't expected to be in time for him to lead the side out against Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend.

Chelsea to Win-to-Nil

The last three meetings between these two clubs have ended in draws but we're backing Chelsea to secure a comfortable 3pts on Saturday and keep a clean sheet in the process. The hosts have won two and lost just one of their last six games against Wolves, keeping clean sheets in three of those matches. Chelsea have won three of their last five matches in all competitions and kept a clean sheet in midweek against AC Milan, while Wolves have lost their last two league games and have failed to score in three of their last four matches.

With the likes of Chiquinho, Raul Jimenez, Sasa Kalajdzic, Hee-Chan Hwang and Pedro Neto all injured and Neves suspended, Wolves have a lack of firepower up front and will be missing a key playmaker in Neves, but that does mean that Diego Costa will start against his old club.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Score

Chelsea fought hard to bring in the striker they really wanted in the summer transfer window and Aubameyang is already fitting right in at Stamford Bridge. With 1-goal to his name in the Premier League as well as one in the Champions League, the Chelsea striker is looking to score for a third straight match in the blue of Chelsea this weekend and we're backing the Gabon international to score against a Wolves defence that will be without Nathan Collins through suspension.

Chelsea backed to beat struggling Wolves

Chelsea would have been expecting a tough 90-minutes at Selhurst Park and that is just what they got as Edouard put the home side in front after just 7-minutes. Chelsea got back onto level terms before the break when Aubameyang turned neatly in the box to volley the ball into the bottom corner. The second half proved even more tight and tense as the minutes passed by but once Chelsea brought on former Eagles loanee Conor Gallagher, you just knew he would make an impact. The England international picked the ball up on the edge of the area and fired home from range his first goal for Chelsea to defeat his former employers.

Chelsea Predicted Lineup – Mendy, Silva, Chilwell, James, Koulibaly, Kovačić, Jorginho, Mount, Havertz, Aubameyang & Sterling

Wolves were away at West Ham last weekend where an early injury to Neto meant that the visitors were strikerless for a large part of the game and it showed. West Ham took the lead through Scamacca, his first goal for the club, just shy of the half-hour mark. The hosts continued to push forward in the second forty-five and doubled their advantage in the 54th-minute through Bowen, his first goal of the campaign. Wolves reacted by bringing on Diego Costa and the Spaniard came close to scoring on his debut but looked short on match fitness.

Wolves Predicted Lineup – Sá, Jonny, Semedo, Kilman, Aït Nouri, Moutinho, Campbell, Podence, Nunes, Guedes & Costa

Team News

Chelsea: N'Golo Kante, Carney Chukwuemeka and Wesley Fofana are all doubts for Saturday's clash.

Wolves: Chiquinho, Raul Jimenez, Sasa Kalajdzic, Hee-Chan Hwang and Pedro Neto are all injury concerns, while Nathan Collins and Ruben Neves are suspended.
