Southampton beat Chelsea FC at home by 2-1

Southampton trash Chelsea Football Club at home by 2-1.

The 22/23 English Premier League continues as match week 4 kickoff yesterday 30th August 2022, with four fixtures.

The tough match in those four matches is Southampton Vs Chelsea Football Club. Southampton were beaten by Manchester United at St. Mary's Stadium in their last game so they want to bounce back to winning ways as soon as possible and Chelsea Football Club became a victim.

Though Chelsea Football Club are suffering from some injury from most of their top players, no one expected them to be beaten by Southampton.

Southampton completed a brilliant first-half turnaround to stun a defensively frail Chelsea 2-1 and the West London sides unbeaten run at St. Mary's, which had dated back to 2013.

Raheem Sterling opened his Chelsea account with a delightful double in the win over Leicester city and the Englishman started sharply at St. Mary's.

Armel Bella-Kotchap got the better of Raheem Sterling on 21 minutes when the winger attempted to slip past him but on 23 minutes it was the former Manchester City Man who lost his marker to tap in from close range after incisive work by Mason Mount.

Southampton with just one win from their opening four (4) matches so many have tipped them to languish around the relegation zone.

The 18 year old Roméo Lavia with a helping hand from Bella-Kotchap led the Southampton response five (5) minutes later.

A Southampton corner was comfortably cleared but only as far as the Belgian midfielder, who took one touch on the edge of the box before hammering a right-footed strike pass Mendy Chelsea goalkeeper.

The turnaround was complete just before half time, when Southampton worked the ball nicely over to Adam Armstrong for the Englishman to powerfully put away.

As early as it is in the 22/23 Premier League season, Chelsea remain five (5) points behind leaders Arsenal, with the Gunners playing the next day.

Tuchel will be highly troubled by his side's fragilities at the back and continuation in dropping points to supposed inferior teams at this stage of the League.
