Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) Rumored To Have Appeared On August Validation of Ghana Police Service

The Cost Of Living Allowance (COLA) is rumored to have appeared  on the August 2022 validation pay voucher of the Ghana Police Service (GPS).

The validation pay vouchers for other government workers are yet to be released.

However it is believed that according to the Police Service salary validation voucher the arrears of July has also been added to that of August's cost of living allowance.

The percentage of the COLA which appeared on the Ghana Police Service Personnel pay voucher is rumored to be exact as the  agreed 15% which was negotiated and agreed on by the public workers unions.

It is a known fact that the security services receive their pay far ahead before other government workers.

Additionally it is possible that the police service could get the notification about the COLA before other public workers on government payroll get to know.

However this news about the police service getting the COLA is still a rumour.

With this notification, government workers can be assured that the COLA will be paid this August ending including the arrears and the COLA of subsequent months.

This rumor is not to be taken as an official confirmation of the payment of the COLA because earlier this month the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission only came out to say that they have finished drafting the modalities for the payment of the COLA. The news about the completion of the modalities was reported on Myjoyonline.

In that news report the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission confirmed that the COLA will surely be paid by the end of August that is if government implements the modalities that they have drafted for government to go by.
