About mountain Afadja - The most noteworthy mountain in Ghana (West Africa).

Mount Afadja is notable to individuals of the Volta part of Ghana as "Afadjato" , the genuine name of the mountain is "Afadja" while the postfix "to" signifies mountain in the Ewe language spoken by individuals from the Volta area of Ghana.

The mountain is situated in the Volta Region and it is extremely near Hohoe Municipality, Its culmination is 2905 ft which is 885 meters above ocean level.

In the former times when individuals (Ewes) moved to the area and saw the mountain, they saw that it was being encircled with water sweet potato which is classified "Avadze" in thier nearby language Ewe and a plant causes serious disturbance.

On the mountain were some crawling plant that look like the water sweet potato plant, hence they chose to referred to it as "Avadze-to". Today in history "Avadze-to" has been palatalized into "Afadjato".

The primary individual to ascend the mountain was a German, there are streams, cascades and a few caverns nearby, that as well as in excess of 33 types of vertebrates and around 300 butterfly species live in the environmental locale.
