See Details: SIM Card Re-registration Deadline Extended

The Minister of Communications and Digitalization “Ursula Owusu” on Sunday 31st July announced that the SIM card re-registration exercise will be for the last time be extended to September 30th.

The SIM card re-registration started last year and the deadline has been postponed several times but the minister of communications said this extension will be for the very last time.

Citizens have also been complaining about the difficulty in the process involved in the re-registration.

The process of the re-registration starts from the Ghana card. If you don’t have the Ghana card you will have to get one.

Getting the Ghana card is not an easy task. You will have to queue in long lines for hours or even for days. In some cases the machines used for the Ghana Card registration breaks down and slow the process. These inconveniences have made it impossible for  some citizens to get the card.

However some people still don’t have the Ghana card not to talk of even linking it to their SIM card. And after linking it they will have to go to the nearest telco office for biometric capturing. All these processes are cumbersome for subscribers.

In announcing the extension of the deadline the minister also sent a warning to those who took Quick Loans and have refused to register their sim cards to avoid re-paying. She branded those subscribers as people engaged in “Evil Corruption”  and will be found out soon.
